2011 CulinART: A Gala of Surreal Fantasy

ISES

Close to 300 people attended the sixth annual CulinART event hosted by ISES Austin benefiting The Wright House Wellness Center on Thursday, Feb. 17. And what a success!

Over $31,000 dollars was raised during the evening’s live and silent auction. The “fill-the-gaps” segment, where individuals pledge purely for the benefit of helping the Wright House, generated over $9,500.

Austin Music Hall was completely transformed into a surreal fantasy with the help of Ilios Lighting, Marquee Event Group and Premiere Party Central.

The evening began with a VIP reception hosted by Crave Catering, and guests were treated to mouth-watering hors d’œuvres including taffy apple pork tarts and white chocolate lollipops with sour apple rock candy. Talk about an Explosion of the Mouth!

As guests mingled and perused the silent auction, Magritte inspired waiters served up Sterling Affairs unreal pairings like grilled and chilled prawn mini cocktails with a blood orange rum runner shot.

The main event began with a delicious deconstructed Caesar salad prepared by Truluck’s as guests were entertained with the instrumental sounds of a harpist from BRAVO! Entertainment.

The main course featured The RK Group’s seared sea scallops served on sushi rice with a sweet pea mousseline and a quail breast stuffed andouille sausage.

Then it was time for the party to start. Our fantastic auctioneer, Gayle Stallings of FUNauctions, once again knocked it out of the park by helping to raise over $20,000 in the live auction.

The night ended with KICK. Coby Neal and Beth O’Reilly of The Flower Studio, won the Centerpiece Decoration Award for their fabulous floral centerpiece, and Delysia Chocolatier served up delicious dark chocolates paired with wasabi and raspberries

Didn’t get enough? It’s ok, there is still more to see.
