The Wright House Wellness Center's annual gala - CulinART - will take place on Thursday, February 23, 2012, from 6:30 - 10:30pm at Shoal Crossings Event Center.

A live auction and a general ask for donations will take place during the event and we are in need of bid spotters, bid recorders and a runner.

Outlined below are the bid spotter and bid recorder duties and the types of persons we are looking for to help us. There is a required volunteer training on Thursday, February 16, from 6:30-7:30 for bid spotters and 7:30 - 8:30 for bid recorders. If you think you have the right stuff and want to attend a glamorous event, then please contact leah@thewrighthouse.org.


Bid Spotter (5 positions)

  • Needed to help Auctioneer locate and encourage active bidders
  • Will use glow lights provided by Auctioneer to attract Auctioneer’s attention
  • Verify winning bidder number and amount
  • Assigned to a section of 5 or 6 tables
  • Must attend training with Auctioneer

Best personality traits

  • Outgoing
  • Energetic
  • Not shy or afraid to encourage guests to bid
  • Loud and can project their voice (Can say the word “yes” that can be heard in a ballroom)
  • Professional
  • Feels comfortable standing in front of a group of 400+ people

 

Bid Recorder (2 positions)

  • Will write the highest bidder number and bid amount on form provided by Auctioneer for live auction.
  • Will write the bidder number and donation amount on form provided by Auctioneer for Fund-a-Need donations.
  • Must attend training with Auctioneer

Best personality traits

  • Pays attention to detail
  • Can focus on task for 50-60 minutes
  • Bookkeeper, bank teller or cashier type
  • Can easily add 6 numbers (during the Fund-a-Need) and provide a total in 30-45 seconds

 

Runner (1 position)

  • Needed to run info, supplies, other misc. between auctioneer and event chairs

The Wright House Wellness Center is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization providing Disease Management and Disease Prevention and Education programs to people living in Travis, Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays and Williamson Counties. Services are provided at either no- or low-cost and eligibility is determined by service.
